After the devastation wrought by hurricane Andrew in 1992, Dade County, Florida and various professional, industry and insurance organizations began developing protocols for testing and certifying various building materials in order to ensure they provided the protection to prevent such massive destruction as a result of windborne debris. While not perfect, the standards are strict and thorough covering structural, water infiltration and impact resistance.

BiltBest has certified a full product line to these standards and took the additional step of testing and certifying its product lines marketed in areas of the country that do not require any such certification, for performance levels in order to assure the consumer that BiltBest products offer certifiable performance to specific standards developed by independent bodies.

The Maxima Storm Guard by BiltBest™ product line is our hurricane impact resistant rated product line. It is certified for inclusion in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone along coastal Florida (depending on required wind loads). These products have all been subjected to the most stringent impact resistant test protocols in existance and tested and certified by independent, third party certifying agencies to assure you of the integrity of their design and construction.

Maxima Storm Guard by BiltBest™ architectural grade, aluminum clad, hurricane impact resistant windows have been tested to simulated wind speeds equivalent to 140 m.p.h and carry Design Pressure certifications of +/-50 PSF under the TAS 201, TAS 202, TAS 203 protocols. They are certified for the High Velocity Hurricane Zones on the coastal regions of Florida and carry WDMA Hallmark Certifications as listed in the table below.

The extruded aluminum cladding, a sequential multi-point sash locking mechanism, coupled with a 2" thick sash and structural glazing revolving around Cardinal Sea-Storm® glass, ensures your peace of mind with the approach of a hurricane. No more rushing to board up the windows and no unsightly exterior appendages as required with roll-down or fixed hurricane shutters. This window system gives all the protection, in one package, without a second point of failure or the additional maintenance or storage associated with shutter systems.
